Foursquare & Factual Merge To Form Location Data Powerhouse

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”36772″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Foursquare and Factual, two location data power houses, have joined forces this week. Bringing together a wealth of data intelligence from both organizations, the merger establishes Foursquare as the “#1 independent leader in location-based technology and data for global brands, advertisers, publishers, and agencies.”

Location data and location technology have become essential for day-to-day business operations. Bringing these two companies together will open up unmatched reach and scale with access to more 500 million devices worldwide, 25 million opted-in and always on users, and over 105 million points of interest across 190 countries.

Prior to the merger, both companies have been very successful on their own, with over 50% of Fortune 100 companies choosing to work with Foursquare or Factual as a location services partner. At Location3, we have been longstanding partners with both Factual and Foursquare, and are looking forward to the potential for expanded impact in the local data management space from this merger.

Foursquare has emerged as a very important partner in the business listings management space in large part due to their snap-to-place geocode functionality for a large network of location based data partners like UBER, SnapChat, Apple Maps, Samsung, Twitter, and Foursquare’s own Swarm and Foursquare apps.

Together as one, it will be interesting to see what new market-leading innovations will come from this acquisition, and new ways in which we can further tap into the power of location.
