Google’s New Black-Owned Business Attribute

In an effort to make Search and Maps more inclusive, Google recently announced its release of a new black-owned business attribute! Searches are surging for black-owned businesses, and Google hopes to make it easier for customers to find and support these businesses with the new label. Here’s how to get started:

Owners who identify as black, with verified Business Profiles, can add the ‘black-owned business’ attribute to their profile.

  1. Log in to your Google My Business profile.
  2. Click the ‘Info‘ tab on the right.
  3. Scroll to the ‘Highlights‘ option.
  4. Select ‘Black-owned.’
  5. Click ‘Apply.’

That’s it! You’re done!

Does Location3 manage your business listings on Google My Business? We can add this label in bulk to the applicable locations! We simply need the store ID for the respective locations in our bulk feed or in a separate spreadsheet. Contact your Partner Director for more information.

We are also happy to add this attribute on behalf of local business owners who manage their listings profiles in LOCALACT. Email support@localact.com.
