The Facebook Ad Boycott: What You Need To Know

Facebook has dominated headlines over the past week since a coalition of civil rights groups, including the NAACP and Anti-Defamation League, launched the #StopHateForProfit campaign on June 17th to protest deficiencies in Facebook’s content and advertising policies. The campaign decries the policies they say have amplified hate speech, misinformation and fake news, and have led to the incitement of violence and voter suppression.  The focus of the campaign has been to encourage businesses to stop Facebook advertising campaigns for the month of July and provide a list of recommended steps they hope Facebook will implement in the coming weeks and months.

This issue is top of mind for our team at Location3 for myriad reasons. Location3 Gives Back

As an organization, we have felt a deep call to listen, learn and understand the role that systemic oppression has played in our history. During the month of June, we collectively decided to support the work of Campaign Zero, an organization dedicated to ending police violence through research, technical assistance for police accountability campaigns, developing model legislation and advocacy.

We are proud of our fundraising efforts in support of Campaign Zero. Location3 matched employee contributions and gave over $5k to this important cause. This is only a beginning step for Location3, and we recognize how much further we can grow as an organization and country to ensure equal opportunities for all.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
