Google Announces $800+ Million COVID-19 Relief Plan
Google CEO Sundar Pichai made headlines earlier today with his announcement that Google is pledging more than $800 million to help support small- and medium-sized businesses, health organizations and governments, and health workers currently combatting the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
Google’s commitment includes $250 million in advertising grants to the World Health Organization and other governmental agencies to help further spread key information about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, Google has set aside $340 million for Google Ads credits that will be made available to small- and medium-sized businesses, to help support them through the current economic downturn that has coincided with the global pandemic.
